Founder's Corner

As a native Washingtonian whose roots lie in Uptown Northwest, Washington, D.C., I grew up participating in youth programs offered throughout the city that helped shape and inspire my journey.

Those experiences planted the seeds for what would later become Faith, Hope and Love Community Outreach Center.

Before founding FHL, I served for over ten years as a Bus Operator with Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority.

During that time, I developed meaningful relationships within the community and witnessed firsthand the challenges many youth and families face each day. While serving aboard the bus, I realized the importance of connection, encouragement, and simply being present for people in moments when they needed hope the most.

After surrendering to the calling over my life in 2011, I prayed and asked the Lord to reveal my purpose. From that place of faith and obedience, Faith, Hope and Love Community Outreach Center was born.

FHL was created not only to meet needs, but to reach across the table and remind others that they are not alone. I understand what it feels like to be overlooked, counted out, and faced with adversity. Yet through faith, I discovered that with God we are always counted in.

My prayer is that through guidance, mentorship, education, outreach, and love, this organization becomes a pillar within the community — empowering youth and families to walk confidently in their God-given purpose and reminding them never to give up, because purpose belongs to them too.
